Thanks to Eileen and Alicia for the "Honest Scrap" award! Here are the rules of the award:
1) Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.
2) Show the 7 winners names and links on your blog, and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with "Honest Scrap."
3) List at least 10 honest things about yourself.
And here are my honest ramblings:
1. I am seriously addicted to Facebook.
2. I think I might love my dogs too much, don't know how I will cope when they die.
3. I am afraid we will never be chosen to be parents.
4. I'm frustrated that I'm 33 and still working on my education.
5. My house is embarrassingly messy sometimes (OK, oftentimes!)
6. I often feel lonely at church and I'm not sure this makes sense.
7. I am terrified of death and losing the people I love.
8. I have an intense fear of escalators and falling down stairs.
9. I wish I was thinner...
10. I want to get laperoscopic bariatric surgery (for what I think are the right reasons) but I'm scared, scared, scared...of the consequences, possible complications, and of doing it alone.
Just like Eileen, I'm feeling maybe that was a bit too honest. I'm also not sure who to tag, because so many of the blogs I read have already done this one. If you're reading this and you haven't yet been tagged, consider yourself tagged now! :) I honestly find beauty and brilliance in all of the blogs I read, in one way or another. I'd love to hear 10 honest things from all of you!

Hi Melba. It's good to see you back on the blog. I took a break as well for a variety of reasons so I can understand how you can get away from it. Hope to hear more from you, and I hope your spirits pick up.
Hi Melba,
My wife and I just read your whole blog before heading off to church.
We adopted 3 Children from Catholic Social Services of Wayne County and two more from two other agencies. We are now with Forever Families in Novi.
The fifth adoption will be final in April. So that you don't think that we are taking all the available children, ours are bio-siblings adopted from the foster care system.
We will continue to read your blog and pray that you may soon be blessed.

I can totally relate to 5 and 6. Our previous churches we took active roles in, the one we go to now is a 25-30 min drive so we don't take part in much of the activities besides going to Sunday service. I miss it so much.
And our home. UGH! I can't keep it tidy with just the two of us, how will I do it with a child?
I have no worries about you and #3, God will give you your hearts desire, I am sure of it.
You are beautiful ~ thanks for your honesty. I share so many of your thoughts. :)

Your honesty was very beautiful. I think you look wonderful, btw, surgery be damned!
I also have a fear of escalators! I thought I was the only one; I've never met anyone else like this. I can get on one going up pretty ok, but when I have to step on one going down I get panicky and grab onto my husband and almost freeze in fear.
(Hugs) to you Melba! I think you are just precious! I just love how your smile comes out of this screen in your pictures above!
Your #6 makes me sad....try and find a place to plug in...SS class, ministry...often, we have to make the first moves and then we'll get blessed through them.
As I always say, I will never forget being where you are and I always felt #3 too! But, look at me now! It is sooooo incredibly hard.........beyond words. Just keep holding on!
I think we all wish #9, is we are female and breathing! Well, except for those who are already bean poles....don't get the 'luck' in those genetics! ugh! :o)
#10-is that the lapband?? I've had several friends have great success with that.
I know you are loved just as you are! And, your child/ren will certainly love you as you are!!!
And Annie and Melba,
I FREAK getting on elevators....especially going down too!!!!
Just wait until the baby comes. Then your house will be a complete disaster, but at least you can then blame it on the baby. that's what I do. Hehehe!!
I understand #6 very well.
About #2, I'm the same way...everyone told me that I'd treat them differently once Evie was here but I don't! I still call Phoebe my "baby girl" and can't resist petting Apollo every time I walk by him snoozing on the couch, and I'm so sad right now because he's having bad arthritis pain. I took him to the vet for it last week on the same day I took Evie in for her cold.
And about #6, I feel the same way a lot. I think it's because we expect church to be such a welcoming environment where everyone will sense our frustrations and pain and come comfort us but then we realize everyone else is just as self-centered and human as we are and they are oblivious to what's going on with us ("us" being infertile/adopting couples)
