Dancing Feet

I had a special Charlie moment yesterday that I don't want to forget. I was having breakfast with my sisters, one of whom was holding the boy. She passed him over the table to me so I could try to feed him a little more. He saw my face and grinned a huge grin. As if that wasn't enough for my mother's heart, I was holding him upright in front of me with his feet on the table and he started kicking his little feet in excitement at seeing me! It looked for all the world like he was dancing! He was babbling and smiling, and honestly...my heart just melted 1,000 times over again!

He is so incredibly precious to me.

I absolutely LOVE being "mommy" to this amazing little man, and the knowledge that he is now recognizing me and showing his excitement at seeing me. Well, it's almost too much for me to process!

I am so hopelessly in love, and I am really going to be in trouble when I have to learn how to discipline this little person! :)

There is nothing like that sense of pure joy! Being a mom is the best thing in the world. Even better than I could have ever imagined.

So sweet! Don't worry, when it comes time to discipline it will be easy because in the end, discipline is just a tool to help kids become good people, and I know you want that for Charlie because you love him so!

So sweet! It is the best feeling, isn't it? We are at the beginning discipline stages right now and it is pretty tough. I have a post brewing about it.

Oh yeah the discipline stinks. I'm having to work hard with Isabel right now on some discipline issues and it breaks my heart.

So sweet how excited he got when he saw his mommy. The moment I won't forget it the first real hug she gave me. One arm wrapped around my neck and just squeezed tight. Still one of those best feelings in the world.
With every word you type I can tell just how over the top in love you are with your son and being a mommy. So happy for you!

I am visiting you from "heart cries" blog. As soon as your little man popped up on the screen, my mouth dropped! Ever since I was a child I have been completely in love with black babies. My first cabbage patch was a black little girl. I even wished at times that I was black, so to see that a Caucasian couple has been allowed to adopt a black baby just blessed me so much. He is gorgeous! Congrats to the beautiful family!
