Praying for Peace

I just received an email from our agency letting us know there is a birthmom who will be looking at our profile (as well as several others I'm sure) next Friday, October 3. I know very little about the birthmom, except that she is 18, having a boy and due in December. As far as I know this will be the first time our letter has been shown since becoming active in the pool. Please pray for this birthmom as she prepares to make this huge decision. I am praying that she finds peace and comfort with our agency, and that she is able to make a decision that will put her mind at ease.

I have no idea when or even if we will be updated on this situation, but I'm sure I'll have to blog about it if we are. :) I feel nervously excited, but I also realize there are a number of different potential outcomes with this and I shouldn't be getting my hopes up...

Wow. I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. I, myself am all jittery and goose-bumpy. However this works out- any action is good!

It really is an exciting thing to know that your profile is being viewed by a potential birthmom. It's very nice that your agency lets you know when that happens! I don't know until I call in, which is once a month. Anyway, I also hope this birthmom has peace with her decisions. Best to you too...(I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.)

That's so exciting. Knowing and waiting is hard. I'll be praying for you and for the birthmom. If they let you know that you're being shown they should let you know when they have a decision one way or another.

Whoa. Huge step to be shown. We'll pray the b-parents make the right decision for them and that y'all have peace with it. :)

That's great! We'll pray that God gives her peace in her decision and know that selecting you guys will be the best for the little guy.

Reading this post just made me SO THANKFUL that our SW never told us when we were being shown to birth parents. I would have died of anxiety, really. I cannot imagine how this feels for you, in both good and bad ways. I know it must be common to be told, because I've heard other people refer to this type of situation before, but it just seems torturous to me. I will definitely pray for you!!!

I am excited for this opportunity for you! You sound a lot more calm than I was the first time our profile went out!

You asked what gifts we bought the birthparents, and I am happy to share this with you. Why don't you email me at hope548 at gmail dot com, just because it would be an awfully long comment to leave!

I read on a previous blog where you were asking what to get the b.parents. I hope you don't mind me commenting. With our daughters b.parents we bought her stuff for the hospital (she didn't have a lot etc...)robe, slippers, flowers and then a gift card for groceries and or clothes for after the baby. The b.father we gave gift cards as well. With our son's b.mother (b.father wasn't in the picture) we gave her flowers, photo album, and gift cards. Now I wish I had come across this sooner because I would have bought each bm an adoption necklace. It is a heart and triangle entertwined. The triangle represents the bm, adoption parents/ mother and the child. I just love it! I hope this is helpful! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions madhenmom at gmail.com

OH sweet Melba!
I will be praying BIG TIME! I don't know if it's good to know when you're being viewed, makes the anxiety so much higher--did for me anyway! You almost want to say, "Just call me when it happens!" but then, you do want to know! Such confliction!
Hang in there girl! It will happen.......!!!

The expectant mom is in my prayers. May God wrap his arms around her and comfort and guide her. And may he give you peace while you wait to hear her decision.
